  • Senior UX Designer

    Modo Labs, a leading mobile-software startup based in Cambridge, MA is looking for a Senior UX Designer to work on improving the user experience across the breadth of our product offering.

    While your focus will be on the mobile-first end-user experience, you’ll have also have the opportunity to contribute to the authoring, messaging, and analytics tools that our customers user to create and manage those end-user experiences.

    Responsibilities:

    • Synthesize requirements from existing functionality, customer input, brainstormed ideas, and direction from senior management
    • Develop user flows, wireframes, specifications/documentation, and prototypes
    • Conduct user testing and accessibility testing
    • Work closely with our engineering team through implementation, testing, documentation, and release
    • Help promote best practices in design, usability, and accessibility within the design and engineering teams and across the company

    Qualifications:

    • 6+ years of experience as a professional designer
    • Experience leading UX and UI design for highly functional mobile apps and web applications
    • A portfolio demonstrating intelligent pattern- and system-based approaches to complex design challenges
    • Strong understanding of usability and accessibility principles
    • Good working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Javascript, and familiarity with software development concepts and processes (e.g., version control, ticketing systems, Agile methodology). We don’t want you to moonlight as a front-end developer, but you need to know enough to design honestly and work effectively with software engineers.

    Based in our Cambridge, MA office the Senior Customer Success role is a critical part of our customer-facing team. It will serve as the primary point of contact for customers and will manage all elements of the business relationship with their named accounts post-sale. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships for their assigned accounts ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, upsell growth opportunities, renewal and retention goals.

    The candidate will demonstrate core traits of ambition, resilience in the face of adversity and genuine curiosity about the customer’s business needs. In addition, a strong technical knowledge and the ability to custom tailor solutions for a variety of customer business scenarios.

     Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels within the customer organization
    • Oversee renewal process by coordinating with business users and procurement to ensure timely renewals
    • Identify and close new opportunities within existing customer base
    • Be the customer’s advocate throughout the entire customer life cycle for implementation, adoption, training, expansion, upsell, and renewal
    • Drive customer adoption through training and development of best practices to continually create incremental value

    Qualifications & Skills

    • At least 5 years relevant work experience in a customer-facing, customer success, professional services, or account management role. SaaS experience preferred!

    Based out of Cincinnati, OH the Account Representative will be responsible for leading an important territory and executing sales that will accelerate growth in this key market.     Responsibilities
    ·       Achieve annual sales goals through the direct sale of mobile software solutions to territory clients
    ·       Identify high potential sales opportunities through prospecting and qualification
    ·       Present the Modo value proposition to stakeholders within prospective client organizations
    ·       Lead contract negotiations, including pricing, product mix and terms
    ·       Work closely with sales development representatives to prospect territory and build pipeline to ensure quarterly and annual sales targets are met
    ·       Work collaboratively with solution engineers, delivery and support teams, to ensure all aspects of pre-sales, and delivery are being worked at highest levels of performance and client satisfaction
    ·       Provide ongoing competitive market and client feedback to the company to help drive continuous improvement of sales team, service delivery, product development and company strategy

    Qualifications
    ·       2+ years in the Higher Education market or 4+ years in SaaS sales
    ·       Demonstrated track record of performance relative to assigned goals
    ·       Experience selling software solutions directly to Higher Education clients
    ·       Ability to clearly understand and articulate issues around student success and engagement and how Modo software and mobile apps can help solve clients’ challenges around student success
    ·       Ability to gain access to and negotiate with senior leadership in Higher Ed (Provost, CIO, etc.)
    ·       Strong verbal, written and presentation skills including expertise with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
    ·       Ability to work independently, but also work in a collaborative team environment team
    ·       Mobile application software experience a plus

  • Ruby on Rails Application Engineer

    Modo Labs has built a variety of cloud hosted Software as a Service (SaaS) applications to support and complement our existing Mobile Campus products. They are built primarily on Ruby on Rails using RESTful APIs and a service-oriented architecture, and we are looking for an experienced engineer to join the team that designs, builds, and maintains this architecture.

    We value design skills, programming ability, and teamwork. Being able to design applications from top to bottom, troubleshooting and debugging tough problems, and brainstorming new ideas are important to this role. You will be working primarily with Ruby, Javascript, HTML, and CSS, but our general approach is to choose the best language for the job. We utilize PostgreSQL for storage, and we use RabbitMQ and RESTful APIs for communication between our various services. We employ continuous integration for testing and deployment.

You like to share your knowledge with others and are willing to ask for help in return. You enjoy solving difficult problems, and make use of metrics, monitoring, and testing to help you understand the inner workings of a system.     Qualifications

    • Significant experience (4 years or more) building scalable web applications in commercial production environments with Ruby on Rails
