    We have an opening for a highly-motivated, results-oriented, enthusiastic IT Desktop Technician. Does this sound like you?

    Modo Labs is looking for an IT Desktop Technician to join our team. The IT Desktop Technician will be based in our Cambridge, MA office, and support users in the Boston area as well as remote staff located across the US. You will support all IT related functions to ensure proper and ongoing day to day operation of Modo computers, printers, desk phones, endpoint security, including hardware and software configuration and setup, employee on-boarding, management of Google G Suite, Office 365, Modo’s test environment and employee IT service issue resolution. We are looking for someone who is talented, collaborative, and has a passion for building and supporting scalable solutions in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, able to multitask, and flexible.

    IT Desktop Technician Responsibilities and Duties

    • Respond to emails and other requests for support. Ensures all requests are documented and entered into the JIRA Service Desk System
    • Create, change, and delete user accounts per request
    • Manage Google G Suite and Office 365 accounts
    • Manage RingCentral VOIP administration
    • Manage our onsite mobile device testing lab
    • Track Asset lifecycle duties – hardware and software licenses, replacement and retirement
    • Installs, configures and updates business applications, system hardware and software, operating systems, printers, network, and AV equipment
    • Support and troubleshoot software problems for end user applications and Windows Operating Systems & MacOS
    • Perform computer administrative tasks including but not limited to: resetting passwords, unlocking accounts and troubleshooting other routine and/or semi-routine user computer issues.
    • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
    • Test, verify, and apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
    • Planning and implementing security measures to protect computer systems, networks and data; develops policies, procedures, and training.
    • Involved in local events, office moves and build outs to ensure that all electrical, phone, network and conference room (projectors, cabling, etc.) requirements are met
    • Create and maintain documentation of various systems.
    • Work collaboratively and effectively with all levels of management and staff within the organization

    IT Desktop Technician Qualifications and Skills

    • Bachelors or associates degree in Business, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related field preferred.
    • 1-3 years Helpdesk Analyst experience
    • MacOS and Windows experience is required.
    • Desired certifications: Apple, Microsoft, A+, Network+
    • Familiarity with Linux (Red Hat)
    • Experience with AWS or other Cloud systems a plus
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with people at all levels
    • Excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication and time management skills
    • Critical thinking, research, and problem-solving skills a must
    • Ability to simultaneously coordinate multiple, high-priority projects
    • Ability to lift objects up to 35 pounds, kneeling, crawl under desks and climb a ladder
    • Occasional travel to our Newburyport, MA office may be required

    Based out Cincinnati, OH the Account Representative will be responsible for leading an important territory and executing sales that will accelerate growth in this key market. Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with marketing, product, customer success, services, design and management will be critical to the success of this role.

    • Achieve annual sales goals through the direct sale of mobile software solutions to territory clients
    • Identify high potential sales opportunities through prospecting and qualification
    • Present the Modo value proposition to stakeholders within prospective client organizations
    • Lead contract negotiations, including pricing, product mix and terms
    • Work closely with sales development representatives to prospect territory and build pipeline to ensure quarterly and annual sales targets are met
    • Work collaboratively with solution engineers, delivery and support teams, to ensure all aspects of pre-sales, and delivery are being worked at highest levels of performance and client satisfaction
    • Provide ongoing competitive market and client feedback to the company to help drive continuous improvement of sales team, service delivery, product development and company strategy


    • 2+ years in the Higher Education market or 4+ years in SaaS sales
    • Demonstrated track record of performance relative to assigned goals

  • Senior Accountant

    We’re looking for Sr. Accountant/Financial Analyst to join our Finance/Accounting team. The Senior Accountant/Financial Analyst will be a member of a small, agile, focused Accounting and Finance team, and will work closely and in collaboration on a day-to-day basis with the Sr. Corporate Controller and, as projects may require, directly with the CFO.

    You will be responsible for contributing to the timely and accurate completion of month end close, monthly financial transaction processing, audit-related and process improvement activities, as well as ad hoc projects for the CFO, Sr. Corporate Controller and Company.


    Monthly Close and Related Activities

    • Participate in month-end close activities and ensure compliance with monthly close calendar. Activities include but not limited to prepare month-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules for assigned general ledger accounts in a thoughtful, easy to understand manner.
    • Responsible for AP and AR processes, including Billing/Collections, Vendor Payments, T&E review.
    • Analyze fluctuations between forecast and actual results and prepare supporting documentation to be used in Management meetings.
    • Research and reconcile all discrepancies.
    • Prepare monthly financial statements/models, management reports and records by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information.
    • Assist in annual audit and prepare audit schedules as necessary.
    • Proactively identify issues causing inefficiencies and implement process improvements to streamline accounting processes, including cross-accounting system integration and automation.
    • Be instrumental in improving the Accounting close process and other accounting process flows.Resolve and / or mediate the resolution of accounting system related problems and requests.


    • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
    • Assist Sr. Corporate Controller in research of accounting literature and drafting technical memos.
    • Complete special projects for CFO and Sr. Corporate Controller, as may be required


    • BA or BS degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
    • 5+ years of related experience, preferably in high tech industry, fast growing, dynamic, multinational environment, and public firm experience is a plus.
    • CPA license preferred.
    • Strong Excel skills are essential; experience with Intacct is a plus.
    • Strong knowledge of US GAAP. Working knowledge of IFRS is a plus.
    • Thorough knowledge of general accounting principles and their application as well as a demonstrated ability to apply these in the business context.
    • Must be detail oriented, accurate, customer oriented, possess excellent analytical abilities, and problem-solving skills.
    • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills and can work effectively across functional areas.
    • Self-starter, high availability, driven with minimum supervision, ability to work under pressure, meet fixed deadlines and thrive in a dynamic, high-energy environment.

  • HR Director

    Modo Labs is hiring a Director of HR to support our growth requirements. This position will be located in our Cambridge headquarters.

    As Director of HR, you will define and lead Modo Labs’ human resources function, supporting the company’s rapid growth and expansion in all HR matters. You wil be responsible for evaluating Modo’s existing HR policies and practices and for defining, developing, and implementing scalable, enhanced HR policies and processes to support all Modo Labs employees and managers at all company sites. You will also lead Modo Labs’ talent management function, managing recruitment of technical and non-technical staff in support of Modo’s rapid growth.

    We are seeking an experienced and talented professional who has the vision to build the human resources and talent management functions to support Modo Labs’ growth for the next several years and the passion and energy to roll-up your sleeves to get the job done. You will be both a manager and an individual contributor initially, with the ability to build an HR and recruiting team that can scale to meet requirements as the company grows over time. You will report to the CFO of Modo Labs.

    Position Responsibilities

    • Review, develop and implement HR policies and provide guidance on the policies and workplace best practices to Modo Labs management and employees.
    • Manage full life-cycle recruitment, working with hiring managers and within their budgets to effectively meet recruitment targets.
    • Oversee all employee transition activities including on-boarding and off-boarding, promotions, transfers, and other employee life-cycle related activities. Collaborate with colleagues in IT, facilities, and finance to ensure new or transferring Modo employees have an efficient and productive work environment.
    • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
    • Benchmark compensation and manage the annual increase and bonus payout processes and provide guidance on compensation for promotions.
    • Address employee concerns when they arise and resolve both simple and complex employee relations issues, using solid business acumen and judgment, knowing when to escalate issues to management for advice and guidance.
    • Research, propose, develop, and implement employee benefits programs and manage the annual open enrollment process.
    • Provide HR data analyses and reports to inform on functional performance against KPIs and recommend improvements to processes.

    Skills & Experience

    • 10+ years in Human Resources management
    • 5+ years of experience in recruitment and talent management in within a startup or high-tech environment
    • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, including the demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with staff at all levels and to deal with confidential information and all employee matters with diplomacy and discretion.
    • Strong experience in HR policy and process development and implementation
    • Strong experience in developing and implementing an employee performance policy
    • Strong experience in benefits and compensation management
    • Strong experience in talent acquisition and talent management
    • Strong knowledge and experience with the employment laws in the US
    • BA required, MA in Organization Development desired.
    • International experience would be a plus
