  • Ruby on Rails Application Engineer

    Modo Labs has built a variety of cloud hosted Software as a Service (SaaS) applications to support and complement our existing Mobile Campus products. They are built primarily on Ruby on Rails using RESTful APIs and a service-oriented architecture, and we are looking for an experienced engineer to join the team that designs, builds, and maintains this architecture.

    We value design skills, programming ability, and teamwork. Being able to design applications from top to bottom, troubleshooting and debugging tough problems, and brainstorming new ideas are important to this role. You will be working primarily with Ruby, Javascript, HTML, and CSS, but our general approach is to choose the best language for the job. We utilize PostgreSQL for storage, and we use RabbitMQ and RESTful APIs for communication between our various services. We employ continuous integration for testing and deployment.

    • Significant experience (4 years or more) building scalable web applications in commercial production environments with Ruby on Rails

    Modo Labs, a venture backed company, is looking for an awesome, experienced Ruby on Rails engineer to join our incredibly talented, hard working, xkcd-loving development team to work with our Kurogo platform to deliver mobile web, iOS and Android apps. Our Kurogo platform allows non-developers to produce rich engagement apps for organizations such as Fortune 500 enterprises, universities and hospitals.

    Location

  • Service Delivery Manager

    Modo Labs is looking for an organized, smart, and creative person with strong communication skills to join our team as a Customer Support Specialist. This is a key role in our Client Services organization where you can learn a ton about mobile and help make a real difference every day for our great customers.

    The customer support specialist is a point person for assist our existing clients – universities, companies and hospitals – as they use our Kurogo mobile platform and its suite of software solutions.

    You will help clients find the appropriate answers to issues and problems via your knowledge via your knowledge of our software and by consulting with appropriate Modo Labs team members. You will provide guidance on the capabilities of our product and help customers use its tools and methods to achieve their goals. Finally, you will engage with customer representatives to understand their needs, in order to develop sales opportunities and drive future product features.

    Based out of Cambridge, MA, or major metro area in the Central U.S (Chicago, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Dallas, Cincinnati) the Account Executive will be responsible for leading an important territory and executing sales that will accelerate growth in this key market.     Responsibilities

    • Achieve annual sales goals through the direct sale of mobile software solutions to territory clients
    • Identify high potential sales opportunities through prospecting and qualification
    • Present the Modo value proposition to stakeholders within prospective client organizations
    • Lead contract negotiations, including pricing, product mix and terms
    • Work closely with sales development representatives to prospect territory and build pipeline to ensure quarterly and annual sales targets are met
    • Work collaboratively with solution engineers, delivery and support teams, to ensure all aspects of pre-sales, and delivery are being worked at highest levels of performance and client satisfaction
    • Provide ongoing competitive market and client feedback to the company to help drive continuous improvement of sales team, service delivery, product development and company strategy

    Qualifications

    • 4+ years in the Higher Education market
    • Demonstrated track record of performance relative to assigned goals
    • Experience selling software solutions directly to Higher Education clients
    • Ability to clearly understand and articulate issues around student success and engagement and how Modo software and mobile apps can help solve clients’ challenges around student success
    • Ability to gain access to and negotiate with senior leadership in Higher Ed (Provost, CIO, etc.)
    • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills including expertise with Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)
    • Ability to work independently, but also work in a collaborative team environment team
    • Mobile application software experience a plus
    • BA/BS or equivalent
    • Travel is required
